Governor Hope Uzodinma expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu has the potential to revitalize Nigeria’s economy, making it the fastest-growing in Africa.
During an interaction with journalists in Owerri, he highlighted the importance of journalists conveying the benefits of governmental policies rather than focusing on their drawbacks.
Uzodinma emphasized that despite current economic challenges, the public will ultimately reap the rewards of Tinubu’s economic strategies, which he described as well-considered and crucial for Nigeria’s recovery.
He defended Tinubu’s bold actions, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of official and parallel exchange rates, as essential steps to strengthen the economy.
Uzodinma criticized some Nigerians for undermining the administration’s efforts instead of acknowledging them, noting that all major presidential candidates had pledged to end fuel subsidies, with the losing candidates now acting as if they opposed it.
