George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed concern that the wage increase demands from organized labor are unrealistic.
During a meeting in Abuja with the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Thursday, June 6, Akume appealed for the Christian community's support as the tripartite committee on minimum wage negotiations continues.
He mentioned that paying his drivers a minimum wage of N100,000 would be challenging.
Akume questioned where the funds would come from to meet the demands of organized labor, noting that they previously committed treason by shutting down the national grid during a nationwide strike.
