In a recent update reaching RantHQ Blog, the Federal Government's Tripartite Committee announced that a new minimum wage figure will be decided by today, Friday.

This was confirmed by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, a committee member, who stated that the figure would be finalized when the committee reconvenes at 11am on Friday.

Addressing rumors that a figure of N105,000 had been agreed upon, Governor Uzodimma clarified that no such decision has been made yet but assured that the agreed figure would be disclosed after Friday's meeting.

The committee had previously met on Wednesday at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, with representatives from the Federal Government, including the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu; Minister of Labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; as well as representatives of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Head of Service of the Federation.

Representatives from Organised Labour included the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and the President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo.
