FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing insecurity and improving infrastructure in Abuja. Speaking during the flag-off ceremony for the 9.8km Kabusa-Takushara road project, Wike highlighted the importance of such initiatives in combating banditry and facilitating economic activities like farming, which have been disrupted by insecurity.
The road, a two-lane 7-meter carriageway with solar-powered streetlights, is slated for completion within six months. Wike assured residents that President Tinubu's administration would fulfill its promises, including extending development projects to satellite towns, not just the city center.
Wike also emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity, urging residents to remain hopeful. Additionally, he criticized the practice of exposing school children to strenuous activities during official visits, directing school administrators to prioritize students' welfare.
This development underscores the FCT administration's focus on infrastructure as a foundation for tackling insecurity and improving living standards.
