Veteran Nigerian Singer Onyeka Onwenu Dies at 72
Nigerian music legend, actress, and politician Onyeka Onwenu has passed away at the age of 72. The celebrated artist, who was affectionately known as "The Elegant Stallion," reportedly died on the evening of July 30, 2024, after collapsing during a performance at the 80th birthday celebration of Stella Okoli, the CEO of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Eyewitnesses at the event described the shocking moment when Onwenu, after delivering a remarkable performance, slumped and was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
