In a heartbreaking incident that has left many in shock, a 55-year-old woman, simply identified as Ifeoma, passed away while giving her testimony in a church located in the Iyana Ejigbo area of Lagos State. The tragic event occurred during a Sunday service at Ejigbo Zonal Ministry Church.
According to reports, Ifeoma was in the midst of singing a song in preparation for sharing her testimony with the congregation when she suddenly collapsed. Despite immediate efforts to save her, she was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to a General Hospital, where she was sadly confirmed dead.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the woman's sudden death. In his statement, Hundeyin recounted the timeline of events: On 08/09/2024, at about 11:45 hours, the Zonal Accountant of Ministry Church Ejigbo, Lagos, came to the station and reported that during testimony hour, one Ifeoma, aged 55, suddenly slumped while singing. She was rushed to a hospital but was later confirmed dead.
Police detectives visited the hospital as part of the ongoing investigation. It was revealed that the deceased woman's family, along with her husband, had taken her body back to Anambra State, where she was originally from.
This tragedy has brought immense grief to the congregation and her family, as Ifeoma had reportedly come forward to share a testimony of gratitude before her unexpected passing.
