President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has indefinitely postponed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in honor of Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on the night of November 5, 2024. Originally scheduled for today, the meeting was postponed to pay respect to General Lagbaja, who served in his position from June 19, 2023, until his recent passing.
President Tinubu expressed condolences to both the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces. He has also mandated that flags across Nigeria be flown at half-staff for seven days as a tribute to the late general. Further updates on the rescheduling of the FEC meeting will be provided in due course, as stated by Bayo Onanuga, the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
