Korra Obidi, a well-known Nigerian dancer and mother of two, has received significant support through her GoFundMe campaign, raising over $49,000 to aid in her legal battle against her ex-husband, Justin Dean.
In just a few hours after initiating her GoFundMe initiative to cover her legal expenses, Korra Obidi has already exceeded the $49,000 milestone, demonstrating robust backing from her fan base and supporters.
Korra Obidi sought financial assistance due to her involvement in a legal dispute with her ex-husband, Justin Dean, concerning the custody and image rights of their children.
Justin Dean has recently obtained image rights protection from Meta, Facebook's parent company, which prohibits Korra Obidi from showcasing their children on the platform.
As a result, all videos shared by Korra Obidi that featured her children were taken down from Facebook, and her page lost its monetization privileges.
Korra Obidi turned to social media to convey her dismay over the high legal costs needed to challenge Dean's actions in court.
Korra Obidi initiated a GoFundMe campaign, aiming to raise $100,000 to address her legal fees, and the reaction to her appeal has been remarkable.
In the mere span of 24 hours since the fundraiser's launch, donations poured in, swiftly exceeding $49,000 and showing no signs of slowing down.
While sharing the video, she captioned;
“Thank you guys so much! I am grateful”.
