Architect Adamu Jagaba, a former Permanent Secretary in the Niger State Civil Service, was killed on Saturday, December 7, 2024, after being attacked by an 18-year-old car painter, Fatiyah Abdulhakeem, at his block industry located along Eastern Bypass, Minna.
The Niger State Police Command reported that Abdulhakeem unlawfully entered the premises and inflicted severe injuries on Jagaba's head and neck before fleeing with the victim's Toyota Camry (Reg. No. MNA 61 AE).
Jagaba was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
The police were notified around 3 pm and promptly launched an investigation.
Later that evening, officers from the police’s Crack Squad intercepted the stolen vehicle on Bosso Estate Road and arrested Abdulhakeem.
During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, revealing that he had initially visited Jagaba to discuss car repairs but deliberately carried out the attack.
Abdulhakeem also disclosed that some of Jagaba's workers had assisted him by providing inside information to aid the attack.
He further named additional accomplices involved in the incident.
The police have assured the public that all parties involved will be held accountable.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone linked to this heinous crime is brought to justice,” stated the Niger State Police Command.
Abdulhakeem will face prosecution once the investigation is completed.
