Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has responded to the Attorney General of the Federation's statement regarding the ongoing industrial action by labour unions. Falana, who represents the labour unions, argues that his clients have not committed any offence by participating in the strike and that the National Industrial Court's orders do not apply to the current strike. He also states that the labour unions have always given more than the required 15-day notice before embarking on a strike, but the Federal Government has consistently obtained ex parte orders to restrain workers from striking. Falana advises the Tripartite Committee to speed up negotiations to enable the labour unions to call off the strike, emphasizing that his clients are willing to cooperate for industrial harmony.
