Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has reportedly been in police custody, according to Nigerian lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju.
This revelation follows days of speculation about the artist's whereabouts after his public criticism of Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy.
According to Adeyanju, Burna Boy filed a formal petition against Speed Darlington, which led to his arrest.
The lawyer shared the update on his Facebook page on Tuesday, October 8, confirming that he had recently visited Speed Darlington.
"We just spent the last 30 minutes with Speed Darlington, and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos last week, moved around, and eventually brought to Abuja, where he has been in detention since then. The petition against him was written by Burna Boy, we can confirm," Adeyanju wrote.
The drama unfolded after Speed Darlington made inflammatory remarks about Burna Boy in the aftermath of Sean "Diddy" Combs’ arrest on serious charges, including sex trafficking.
RantHQ Blog had earlier reported Speed Darlington’s mysterious disappearance, which now appears to be linked to this petition by Burna Boy.
The details of the accusations in the petition remain undisclosed at this time.
