In a heartwarming display of unity, Muslims, Christians, and traditionalists from across Oyo State gathered to offer special prayers for the former governor, Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, who celebrated his 80th birthday. As the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Ladoja holds a revered position in the community, and his milestone birthday brought together religious leaders from the three major faiths in Nigeria to honor him in prayer.At the residence of the former governor in Bodija, Ibadan, clerics representing the Muslim, Christian, and traditionalist communities joined with their followers to seek blessings and long life for Ladoja. The Christian delegation was led by Reverend Dr. Olatinwo Fatoki and Pastor Olusoji Adediji, who offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and continued wisdom for the former governor.On behalf of the Muslim faithful, Sheikh Abubakar Abdulganiyy Agbotomokere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, led prayers, invoking Allah’s grace and protection over Ladoja’s life and future endeavors. The traditionalists, represented by Chief Ifalere Odegbemi Adegbola, the Arabia/Olu Isese of Ibadanland, added their own prayers according to ancestral customs, calling for the spirits of the land to continue to guide and protect him.The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, including the current governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and Senators Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Oyo South) and Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North). Former deputy governor Rauf Olaniyan also attended, along with other prominent figures, family members, traditional rulers, and titleholders who came to celebrate the former governor’s remarkable life.
