During an operational visit to Enugu, Badaru emphasized the importance of a secure environment for business growth and peace, urging military personnel to intensify efforts against regional insecurity.
In a related development, Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra, has been arrested in Finland on terrorism-related charges. Ekpa has been accused of sponsoring terrorism in the Southeast through activities like the enforcement of sit-at-home orders and support for "unknown gunmen." Badaru acknowledged significant progress in combating insecurity over the past year and highlighted Tinubu’s renewed determination to eradicate such threats.
The Defence Minister also visited Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, expressing gratitude for the state's support of military operations and reinforcing the federal government’s dedication to nationwide security.
