The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that the Rivers State Elective Congresses scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, will proceed as originally planned. This decision follows a recent legal update in which the Rivers State High Court vacated an ex-parte order that had previously restrained the APC from holding the congress.
According to a statement released by Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the APC’s National Organizing Secretary, the court decision in the case of Peter Ohochukwu & Anor vs. His Excellency, Abdullahi Ganduje & 5 Others cleared the way for the congress to move forward. The APC emphasized that this development reaffirms its commitment to due process and adherence to the rule of law.
