In a recent address, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, voiced his concerns over the economic direction of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to Ayodele, the government’s excessive spending habits are not only unsustainable but are also exacerbating Nigeria’s economic challenges.Ayodele expressed his frustration in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin. He pointed out that instead of finding ways to strengthen the economy, the administration’s wasteful expenditures are further weakening it. He warned that Nigeria’s financial future looks bleak if the current approach continues. The Primate stated, “President Tinubu is further destroying Nigeria’s economy instead of seeking ways to repair it. The unnecessary lavish spending isn’t helping the country.”He went on to question whether government officials are truly aware of the economic difficulties Nigerians are facing. He argued that if they were, they wouldn’t be making such frivolous purchases during these challenging times.Looking ahead, Ayodele painted a grim picture of Nigeria's economic future, predicting continued struggles into 2025. “I still don’t see our economy smiling in 2025,” he added, calling for immediate action to cut government costs and rein in unnecessary expenditures. The clergyman warned that the government’s attitude could lead to even deeper economic woes, urging leaders to recognize the severity of the situation and take more responsible steps to avoid further harm.
