President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar came together on Friday at the National Mosque in Abuja, where they exchanged warm greetings during the Jummah prayer.
The occasion doubled as a celebration, as the two leaders also attended the wedding of Senator Danjuma Goje's daughter.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga described the reunion as a meeting between "old friends," with both leaders setting aside political differences to share in the moment.
“President Tinubu meets old friend Atiku Abubakar at the National Mosque. It was at the Jumat and wedding of the daughter of Senator Danjuma Goje,” Onanuga shared.
The event drew numerous prominent figures, including All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, and former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
In related news, Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar revealed that President Tinubu is committed to tackling insecurity in the nation.
Speaking during a visit to the 17 Brigade Katsina, the minister assured that the government is mobilizing necessary resources to address insecurity affecting Katsina State.
He commended the troops on their advancements and reaffirmed Tinubu’s support in their efforts to secure the region.
