Nigerian singer Portable made a striking revelation during a live Instagram session with Daddy Freeze, claiming that his struggles in the music industry, including his failure to win a Grammy, were tied to his relationship with Queen Dami, the widow of the late Alaafin of Oyo.
Portable alleged that Queen Dami’s presence in his life brought numerous challenges that hindered his progress.
Seeking a solution, he turned to spiritual practices, offering sacrifices and praying to Ifa for guidance on how to overcome the barriers holding him back.
“I prayed to Ifa, asking for anything or anyone blocking my progress to leave my life, whether it was a man or a woman,” he said during the session, speaking in Yoruba.
The “Zazu Zeh” singer shared that he felt a sense of relief after Queen Dami left him, describing her departure as a breakthrough moment.
He believes her presence was a significant obstacle to his success, particularly his ambition to win a Grammy Award.
“She’s gone now, along with her problems. She was one of the reasons I haven’t achieved my goals. If she wasn’t in my life, I would have won a Grammy by now,” Portable stated.
His comments have stirred conversations online, with fans and critics debating the impact of personal relationships on his career and the validity of his claims.
