The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, has affirmed that former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, remains the leader of the party in the state, despite speculation about his political involvement. Beke stated that Amaechi continues to be a significant force within the APC and supports the party's candidates for the upcoming local government elections on October 5.
During a recent event where party flags were presented to candidates, Beke emphasized that the candidates have been screened and are qualified to participate in the elections. He called on security agencies to ensure a neutral environment for a free and fair election, condemning former Governor Nyesom Wike's administration while praising the current Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Beke urged the public to disregard rumors about the elections not taking place, stating that any potential disruptions would be addressed by security forces.
