Authorities at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos, have reportedly obtained a court order allowing them to keep Nigerian internet personality Bobrisky in custody as investigations proceed.
Bobrisky was arrested on Monday at the Seme border in Badagry by Nigeria Immigration Service agents while allegedly attempting to flee the country.
He was then handed over to officers at the FCID, where he remains in detention.
A senior police official, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed that law enforcement has obtained a court order to extend Bobrisky’s detention.
"We have gone to court to get a detention order from a judge to keep Bobrisky pending the outcome of the investigation or further directives from higher authorities," the official said.
After being held overnight at the Seme Area Command, Bobrisky was escorted by armed personnel to Alagbon on Tuesday.
His arrival drew attention at the FCID headquarters, where curious officers gathered to catch a glimpse of the controversial figure before he was briefly questioned at the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police.
The investigation into Bobrisky’s arrest is ongoing, and the police are expected to release further updates in due course.
