The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sharply criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's recent cabinet reshuffle, accusing him of replacing ineffective ministers with equally unqualified candidates.
In response to the president’s dismissal of five ministers and the appointment of seven new ones during a Federal Executive Council meeting, the opposition party expressed doubts about the effectiveness of these changes.
Despite Tinubu's stated goal of improving governance through administrative restructuring, the PDP has raised concerns about the quality of the new appointees.
Timothy Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the PDP, voiced his dissatisfaction in an interview, describing the reshuffle as superficial.
He likened the changes to "replacing filthy rags with another set of filthy rags," accusing the administration of distracting Nigerians from pressing issues such as insecurity, unemployment, and economic instability.
Osadolor further argued that these changes will not address the underlying problems facing the nation, stating that "what Nigerians need is security, jobs, power, and above all, stability."
The reshuffle comes as part of Tinubu’s broader effort to streamline his administration and merge certain ministries to enhance efficiency.
However, the opposition remains skeptical, questioning whether these moves will have any real impact on the daily struggles of ordinary Nigerians.
