In a significant move for the Egbedore local government area, the Osun State Government has officially approved the appointment of Prince Kazeem Oyekunle as the new Olokinni of Okinni. This decision was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, on Sunday.The appointment was one of the key outcomes from the 8th Meeting of the State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke. The position became vacant following the passing of the former Olokinni, Oba Akadiri Ookanola Olawale, on April 2, 2023.According to the statement, Prince Oyekunle’s selection was the result of a thorough process conducted by the Okinni Kingmakers, where he secured four out of seven votes. The newly appointed Olokinni's selection has been confirmed in accordance with the Chiefs’ Law (Cap 25), Laws of Osun State, 2022, which governs recognized chieftaincies within the state.
