Olujonwo Obasanjo, the son of Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has publicly appealed to his estranged wife, Temitope, for forgiveness and reconciliation.
The couple, who tied the knot in May 2017, separated a few months later amid unresolved differences.
In a heartfelt statement, Olujonwo acknowledged the pain and challenges that plagued their relationship and expressed a deep desire to restore their bond.
He admitted to his role in their marital troubles and pledged to rebuild trust and love with sincerity and humility.
“For some time now, our relationship has been marred by seemingly irreconcilable differences, painful moments that led us down the path of separation, and even divorce proceedings," he said.
Reflecting on their shared journey, Olujonwo described moments of quiet introspection and interventions from trusted individuals as pivotal in his decision to seek reconciliation.
He emphasized the enduring value of the love, dreams, and joy they once shared.
“It is with this deep understanding and love that I now ask my wife for forgiveness for the hurt I have caused and for the pain I have inflicted knowingly and unknowingly. My hope is that Temitope is ready to release the anger, the resentment, and the wounds of the past," he added.
Olujonwo concluded his statement with a plea for a renewed commitment to their union, rooted in faith, love, and understanding.
He expressed readiness to embark on the challenging journey of healing and rebuilding, seeking divine guidance for their future together.
The public appeal has sparked conversations about love, forgiveness, and the resilience required to mend broken relationships.
Whether Temitope will respond positively remains to be seen.
