A notorious Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, has surrendered to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. Abacha, who had been involved in several Boko Haram/ISWAP operations in the Mongunu–Baga axis, turned himself in due to the ongoing pressure from MNJTF operations and his waning interest in the terrorist cause. He escaped from a Boko Haram camp with an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine, and other items. His surrender is seen as a significant development, and he is now providing valuable intelligence to the authorities.
In a separate incident, MNJTF troops ambushed and engaged Boko Haram terrorists, recovering vehicles and supplies after the terrorists fled due to superior firepower.
