The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has clarified that it has not issued any directive for federal workers to switch the financial institutions linked to their Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) salary accounts. This response addresses concerns about potential mandatory changes, especially as some banks undergo system upgrades.
According to Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations, any decision to change salary accounts is entirely up to individual employees and has not been mandated by the IPPIS Office. The OAGF reassured that the IPPIS system is focused on the welfare of workers and aims to avoid any measures that may cause confusion.
The OAGF further encouraged financial institutions to maintain reliable service to ensure customer confidence, emphasizing that regulatory bodies are monitoring the health of these institutions. Employees who wish to update their salary accounts on the IPPIS platform should follow official procedures if they have valid reasons for making changes.
