A fast rising Nigerian fashion creator, Ezinne Olivia, has publicly criticized Ghanaian style influencer Nana Akua Addo for not acknowledging her as the designer of the outfit worn at the AMVCA event.
Nana Akua Addo gained attention over the weekend for showcasing the stunning attire she wore.
However, another designer has stepped forward, claiming ownership of the design after Nana Akua Addo credited a different designer.
Allegedly, the designer was given a choice between receiving credit or receiving a payment of N400,000 (GHC3,856).
Opting for the payment, she still requested support, given that it was her debut at the AMVCA and she had invested heavily to travel with her team from Enugu State to Lagos State.
While sharing the post via Instagram by a user identified as mari_gyata, wrote;
“So there's a battle going on between the designer of this dress and Nana Akua Addo.
“Nana excluded an upcoming Nigerian Designer, styling as one of her creative styling team but rather tagged her Ghanaian team.
“Ezinne was allegedly asked to choose between being tagged and getting paid N400,000. She chose N400k but begged to be supported as this was her first ever AMVCA. She had spent a lot as she's had to travel with her team from Enugu to Lagos....
“Nana wore the dress to AMVC10 and refused to tag Ezinne stating that she chose to be paid rather than being tagged.
“Y’all can come for my head but I honestly don’t see anything wrong with what Nana did. She gave you the options of choosing between a tag and money and you chose the latter. So what’s the big deal here???
“Your only legit concern will be if she’s refused to pay you the balance. She paid you for your services, she owe you no tag. If you really wanted the exposure ? You could have done a 30% or 20% discount. AMVCA is a big deal that could have propelled you higher in your career and it’s the exposure. Push your energy towards getting your balance not a tag”.
