The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it is taking steps to evacuate Nigerians currently residing in Lebanon, following rising tensions due to the ongoing Israel-Hezbollah conflict. This was revealed by Ambassador Eche Abu-Obe, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.The situation in Lebanon has worsened in recent days, prompting the Nigerian government to act swiftly to ensure the safety of its citizens. According to the spokesperson, no Nigerian lives have been lost since the conflict began, but the government remains proactive in its efforts to safeguard the well-being of Nigerians in the region.“The ministry wishes to reassure Nigerians that the Federal Government is engaging with relevant stakeholders and remains committed to the protection and safety of Nigerian nationals,” Abu-Obe stated. The spokesperson further noted that necessary preparations are already underway to bring Nigerians in Lebanon back to the country.
