Alhaji Musliu Akinsaya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) during the union's Quadrennial Delegate Conference held at the Southwest Zone’s Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State. Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election, which followed the NURTW’s constitutional process for selecting leadership from the responsible zone. The conference was overseen by acting National President Aliyu Issa-Ore, while Mrs. Adedamola Salam from the National Headquarters confirmed compliance with the union’s guidelines.
In his acceptance speech, MC Oluomo called for unity, expressing his commitment to peace and stability within the union. He also urged members to forgive past grievances for the union’s greater good, pledging to protect their shared interests and livelihoods. Tajudeen Agbede was also elected as Vice President for the Southwest Zone, with Akeem Adeosun as trustee.
