Five retired Major Generals of the Nigerian Army were officially pulled out of service in a ceremony held at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) headquarters in Lagos on Friday. Major General Omotomilola Akintade, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, reflected on their military journey that began 34 years ago, expressing gratitude for their experiences and growth in the Ordnance Corps. He encouraged current personnel to maintain loyalty, dedication, and professionalism, especially given Nigeria's current security challenges.
The event was marked by nostalgia and appreciation, with the generals acknowledging the sacrifices made by their families and the support of their colleagues. Akintade also praised the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and other leaders for their vision in strengthening the corps, which he hopes will continue to serve the Nigerian Army well in both peace and war.
