Comedian and social media influencer Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr. Jollof, has filed a lawsuit against activist Vincent Oitse, also called Verydarkman (VDM), seeking N500 million in damages for defamation.
The lawsuit stems from accusations made by VDM, which questioned Mr. Jollof’s qualifications for his role as Senior Special Adviser to the governor, and alleged that Mr. Jollof's wife may have engaged in inappropriate conduct to secure the position.
The allegations, which sparked controversy on social media, prompted Mr. Jollof to issue a 30-day ultimatum for VDM to appear in court to substantiate his claims.
The comedian shared the writ of summons on his social media platforms, outlining the accusations across four detailed pages.
In response, VDM reacted with mockery, referring to Mr. Jollof as "mumu" and dismissing the lawsuit. The ongoing feud has divided public opinion, with various reactions pouring in from social media users.
The legal battle is expected to continue playing out in the public eye, further fueling the heated exchange between the two public figures.
