The Lagos State Police Command has taken into custody a commercial $ex worker named Joy Kelvin for her alleged involvement in the stabbing death of a 48-year-old client, identified only as Okafor.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred at approximately 5:32 am at the Jakande Housing Estate in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
Hundeyin explained that a close friend of the deceased reported the case to the Ilasan Police Division.
He recounted, “The complainant received a call from a friend who informed him that Okafor had been stabbed at his residence by Joy Kelvin, a prostitute he had invited for the night.”
He further stated that Okafor was quickly taken to the General Hospital in Marina, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Hundeyin also confirmed that detectives promptly arrived at the scene following the report and arrested Kelvin.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and autopsy.
“He added that the victim was transported to the General Hospital in Marina, where he was declared dead by the attending physician. Following the report, detectives quickly went to the scene and apprehended the suspect. The body has been moved to the General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and an autopsy,” he noted.
SP Hundeyin also mentioned that an investigation is ongoing to determine the full details of the incident, and efforts are being made to inform Okafor’s family about the situation.
