Governor Ahmed Ododo has approved a new minimum wage of ₦72,500. This increase will take effect immediately, with civil servants in the state already celebrating the news.The announcement followed the submission of a report by the Chairman of the Minimum Wage Committee, Elijah Evinemi, during a meeting held at the Government House in Lokoja. The governor praised the efforts of the committee and noted that this decision aligns with his administration's commitment to better the lives of workers in Kogi State.Starting from October, Kogi State workers will see the new minimum wage reflected in their salaries. In addition to this, Governor Ododo has temporarily suspended the withholding tax on civil servants' salaries for one year, providing further financial relief.
