President Bola Tinubu has launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund in a ceremony held at the Council Chambers of the State House. During the event, Tinubu commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their pivotal role in maintaining national security, particularly in their efforts to counter threats across the country. Emphasizing the link between security, peace, and development, Tinubu acknowledged the Armed Forces' dedication to Nigeria's unity and progress.
In honor of the contributions of fallen soldiers, key government officials made substantial pledges to the Appeal Fund. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced a donation of N500 million on behalf of government officials. Senate President Godswill Akpabio contributed N200 million on behalf of the National Assembly, while Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa pledged N50 million on behalf of the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
