Joan Onyemaechi, the kidnapped former Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, has been released by her abductors.
Onyemaechi, a former member of the House of Representatives, was released Friday night.
The former lawmaker arrived Asaba and is receiving medical attention at an unidentified hospital.
The abductors had already wanted N1 billion in ransom, but it is unclear whether that sum was paid before she was released.
SP Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Police Command, verified Onyemaechi’s, also known as Ada Anioma, release on Friday night.
However, Edafe provided no other information about the kidnapped politician’s release.
Onyemaechi was brutally kidnapped by arms-wielding assailants from the premises on July 30th.
