An Ifa priest, Ifayemi Elebuibon has shared the only remedy to curb corruption among government officials in the country.
The Ifa Priest argued that using traditional deities when swearing in government officials will drastically cut down on corruption.
In Osogbo on Thursday, Elebuibon made the call, emphasizing that politicians would not commit any corrupt acts once they began swearing allegiance to Ogun, the god of iron, and other African gods.
As per the priest's statement, the typical political office bearer fears the repercussions of swearing allegiance to any conventional deity.
Additionally, he conveyed his faith that the god of iron would act swiftly to punish those who breach their commitments.
The Araba of Osogbo, Elebuibon, stated that the extent of corruption in the nation was concerning and that it was impacting every industry.
He said; "What is making politicians misbehave is because of the leniency of the Bible and the Qur'an, which they use for oath-taking.
Many of them know that if they sin, they can easily go to one corner and ask for forgiveness and continue with the sin, but they cannot do that with the god of iron; if they misbehave, it will be an instant judgment.
"That is why I am advocating for traditional oath-taking for politicians. Let them try it and see what the repercussions will be. Traditional oath-taking is a way to curb corruption."
