In a candid revelation, renowned Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu opened up about the tumultuous period in his life, admitting that his decision to marry was influenced more by physical attraction than spiritual guidance.
Speaking in an interview, Agwu stated, "I didn't consult God before marrying; I just followed beauty."
His comments come in the wake of significant health challenges he faced in 2022, during which he underwent surgery for a brain tumor.
Agwu revealed that while he was in a coma, his wife, Ibiere, reportedly packed her belongings and left the marriage, even putting their properties up for sale.
“One of the worst things that can befall any man is getting married to a bed wife. I have had my own fair share of it, so I can relate how it is,” he expressed, reflecting on the emotional turmoil of that period.
Agwu's heartfelt statements highlight the deep sense of betrayal he felt, questioning how a spouse could act in such a manner while he was fighting for his life.
"How can my own wife wish me dead when I am yet to be confirmed dead?" he lamented, pointing to the profound disappointment in his marital relationship.
The comedian took responsibility for his choices, acknowledging that he was "carried away during our dating stage" and failed to seek divine guidance before making such a significant commitment.
His story serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of seeking wisdom and spiritual clarity in personal relationships, particularly in times of crisis.
