In a surprising turn of events, the husband of Mrs. Favour Igiebor has come forward to clarify a recent viral video that stirred up quite a controversy. Contrary to widespread reports, he has revealed that his wife did not tear his international passport, as many believed.Addressing the incident in a new video shared on their family’s Instagram page, Mr. Igiebor explained that the video was merely a skit. He acknowledged that the video had garnered unexpected attention, leading to widespread speculation and concern. In his statement, Mr. Igiebor appealed to Nigerians for understanding and forgiveness. He clarified, "What my wife tore is not a passport; she never tore my passport, she never spoiled my passport. We were doing a skit. This is somebody’s story of what happened that we are passing to the world. But I didn’t even know it would go viral."He further emphasized the authenticity of his passport, reassuring the public, "Please, I’m begging everybody, this is not a passport. My passport is intact. Nobody should drag this thing through the mud."In light of the confusion, Mr. Igiebor expressed regret over the incident and the unintended consequences it had caused. "We are sorry," he continued. "We cannot defy the law of Nigeria. We are full bonafide Nigerians, and we cannot go against the law by destroying a Nigerian passport. It is not possible."The initial video, which appeared to show Mrs. Igiebor destroying a Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, prompted the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to launch a formal investigation. However, with the clarification provided by Mr. Igiebor, it appears the video was a misunderstood piece of content intended for entertainment rather than a real act of defiance.
