In a heartbreaking plea, popular Yoruba comic actress Ramota Adetu, known as Aunty Ramota, has called on Nigerians for assistance as she faces homelessness.
In a viral video, Aunty Ramota shared her struggles, revealing that her management team allegedly stole her earnings and deleted her social media accounts, including TikTok, leaving her without any means to support herself.
The diminutive actress, who recently starred in the Yoruba hit series Anikulapo, directed by Kunle Afolayan, disclosed that she had been relying on a friend for accommodation.
However, after her friend’s recent marriage, her friend’s husband requested that Aunty Ramota move out. "I am currently stranded without accommodation," she said, explaining her plight to her followers.
Adding to her distress, Aunty Ramota shared that the person helping her build a home had to abandon the project due to personal reasons.
This left her with no stable place to live, and she was left feeling exploited by her management.
"I worked so hard, but they kept cheating me because they thought I would not know how much we were really making," she stated, lamenting how her trust was broken.
Aunty Ramota expressed hope in finishing her own house, even if it is just a one-room apartment, so she can finally have a place to call home.
Her story has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow Nigerians, with many expressing a desire to assist the beloved actress through these difficult times.
