Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has reacted following reports of the disappearance of fellow artist Speed Darlington, also known as Darlington Okoye, who has been missing for days.
The news of Speed Darlington’s sudden disappearance has earlier been reported by RantHQ Blog, after a social media user claimed the artist had not been seen online for over three days, raising concerns among his fans.
Speed Darlington, known for his controversial statements, had recently made headlines for taunting Burna Boy in a video, referencing Sean Diddy Combs' ongoing legal battles over sex trafficking allegations.
Reacting to the news of Darlington's disappearance, Burna Boy took to social media to share his thoughts.
While confirming the reports, Burna Boy expressed frustration over the constant attacks on his success and the negative influence such actions might have on younger artists.
"I used 10 years to get to where I am today," Burna Boy wrote. "For the past 5 years, I’ve not slept for more than 4 hours. I work day and night to get the results you see, and you come publicly to rubbish my hard work? This is not even about me; you people are making the younger ones think that’s the only way to the top, and that’s wrong."
In his emotional post, Burna Boy also highlighted the impact of such actions on his family, adding: "I have family and parents. Do you consider how they feel when they see that? How could my own people conspire to bring me down despite seeing the work I do? He will remain in jail forever."
While Burna Boy did not elaborate further, his reaction has sparked mixed reactions online, with many wondering whether the statement was figurative or if there are legal implications involved.
Speed Darlington’s whereabouts remain unknown as fans await further updates.
