As the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State approaches, Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged voters in the region to cast their ballots in favor of the ruling party.
Speaking on Monday during the inauguration of a 305-member national campaign council in Akure, Ganduje emphasized the significance of supporting APC as a gesture of respect for President Bola Tinubu, who hails from the region.
Ganduje's remarks came as he introduced Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the chairman of the newly formed campaign council, with Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State and Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River serving as Deputy Chairmen, and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege acting as Secretary.
He stressed the importance of the campaign council collaborating closely with local committees to ensure a cohesive strategy leading up to the election.
“Mr. President is implementing vital reforms for the country’s social and economic development. Given that he is from this geopolitical zone, it is essential to demonstrate respect and appreciation by voting for the APC,” Ganduje stated.
He called on party members and supporters to mobilize efforts to secure victory in the upcoming election, asserting the need for a conducive environment that guarantees a free and fair electoral process.
Ganduje's appeal underscores the party's strategy to leverage regional ties and enhance voter turnout in support of the APC candidate.
