The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Oyo State. His death, which was announced on Tuesday, has been described as a significant loss not only for Oyo State but for Nigeria as a whole.In an official statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media (Print), Moses Alao, Governor Makinde highlighted the immense contribution of the late Koleosho, praising him as a leader who dedicated his life to the service of his people. The governor noted that Koleosho’s death marks the end of an era, a profound loss that leaves a void in the leadership landscape of Nigeria.Governor Makinde, while offering his heartfelt condolences to the people of Saki, the hometown of the late Koleosho, emphasized that his passing is particularly painful for the community. Koleosho, who held the revered title of Babalaje of Saki, was a well-respected figure whose influence and leadership were felt across the region.Reflecting on the impact of the deceased, Makinde stated, "I received the news of the death of Baba Michael Koleoso, the Babalaje of Saki, with shock and sadness. Oyo State and Nigeria have lost a great patriot and selfless leader, one of the last men standing in the batch of leaders who gave their all to make Nigeria a better place."He went on to underscore the significance of Koleosho's passing, noting that it symbolizes the conclusion of a remarkable era in Nigeria's political and social history. "It is the end of a glorious era, and we can only pray to God to grant repose to the soul of our Baba,” Makinde added.
