In a surprising turn of events, renowned food critic Opeyemi Famakin has taken to social media to accuse popular entertainment mogul, Cubana Chiefpriest, of making threats against his life. The alleged incident stems from a critical review Famakin posted about Chiefpriest's restaurant. On September 11, 2024, Famakin visited Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant in Imo State and shared his thoughts on the experience. In his review, he praised the restaurant’s ambiance and aesthetics but critiqued the pastries, saying they shouldn’t have been pre-made and microwaved.Initially, Cubana Chiefpriest responded graciously in the comments section of Famakin's post, thanking the food critic for visiting. "Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!" Chiefpriest wrote, keeping the exchange seemingly polite and professional. However, the situation escalated dramatically on September 12, 2024, when Famakin claimed that Chiefpriest had sent him threatening messages over the review. To back up his accusation, Famakin posted screenshots of private conversations between the two. In one message, Chiefpriest allegedly wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”Famakin, clearly alarmed by the tone of the messages, urged the public to hold Chiefpriest accountable if anything happened to him. In his caption accompanying the screenshot, he stated, “I know a threat when I see one. I guess it’s time to leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see, but it was a different tone in my DMs.”
