In light of the recent policy shifts, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies, the Federal Government is encouraging Nigerians to take advantage of various intervention programmes designed to mitigate the economic impact. The government acknowledges that while the removal of fuel subsidies was essential, it has inevitably created challenges for many citizens.During a sensitization programme in Umuahia on Tuesday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the government's commitment to alleviating the hardships caused by these changes. Represented by Gloria Ify Abiakam, the Head of Centre, Abia (FIC), the Minister outlined several initiatives aimed at job creation, economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.Among the key intervention programmes mentioned were the student loan scheme, the Consumer Credit Corporation, the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, and the Digital and Creative Enterprises (DICE) programme. These initiatives are designed to not only address the immediate concerns but also offer long-term solutions for economic empowerment.Additionally, the Minister highlighted other significant programmes such as the Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), the National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP), housing schemes, and micro and small business loans. These initiatives reflect the government's focus on improving the lives of citizens by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive, despite the current economic challenges."The removal of the fuel subsidy, while necessary, has undoubtedly brought about challenges that many of us are feeling deeply," said the Minister. "But I am here to share the good news that your government is not blind to these challenges, nor are we indifferent."The Federal Government is urging all state and local governments to actively share information about these programmes to ensure that Nigerians across the country are fully informed and motivated to take advantage of the available opportunities. This collaborative effort aims to help cushion the effects of the policy changes and provide pathways for economic recovery and growth
