A tragic incident occurred in the Ago Ka area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, where a fire engulfed a building early in the morning. Unfortunately, 80-year-old Mariam Salako, who was inside, could not escape and lost her life. SP Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson, reported that a distress call alerted the Area Commander, who, along with a team and the Ogun State Fire Service, arrived to control the blaze. Another resident, known as Baba Ali, was rescued through a window by community members. Salako's remains have been taken to the morgue, while the fire's cause is still under investigation.
