Pashotah, the wife of the prominent Egungun of Lagos, has publicly addressed a blackmail attempt involving a private video of her husband.
Taking to Instagram, she disclosed that an anonymous individual threatened to release the video unless a payment was made.
In a series of posts, Pashotah shared screenshots of her exchanges with the blackmailer, firmly refusing to meet their demands.
She clarified that the video in question was a personal recording intended solely for her and described the blackmail as a calculated attempt to shame her, rather than her husband.
“This is not about my husband; it’s about me. The blackmailer wants to put me to shame, but they’ve failed,” she wrote.
Despite the scandal, Pashotah reassured her followers that her marriage remained unaffected.
She described her relationship with the Egungun of Lagos as one built on unwavering trust, loyalty, and understanding, cultivated over several years.
“This relationship isn’t just built on love; it’s built on trust, understanding, and loyalty. We’ve been together long before we had anything. Nothing can break us—not even this,” she affirmed.
She further stated that her husband would not address the matter publicly, as the attempt was targeted at her.
Pashotah encouraged fans to disregard the blackmailer's actions and focus on the positive aspects of their relationship. “My husband and I know our truth. This will not break our marriage or stop me from celebrating my man,” she added.
The couple’s resilience has sparked widespread reactions online, with many fans applauding Pashotah for her strength and transparency.
