EFCC chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede recounts an incident in his office where he was amazed by the exceptional IT abilities of a 17-year-old internet fraudster.
He shared that the 17-year-old managed to obtain his phone number and BVN while they were in his office in Lagos.
He mentioned that the young boy was so absorbed in his laptop that it seemed like he had completely forgotten he was in his office.
Using the BVN, he disclosed the EFCC chairman's bank and account details, offering to demonstrate how he could transfer funds from the chairman's account to his own.
The EFCC chairman observed that what these young men really need is guidance to channel their skills into lawful endeavors, steering them away from viewing fraud as a viable lifestyle.
He also mentioned their effort to avoid imposing severe sentences on young men, aiming not to prematurely end their lives and careers.
