In an ambitious move aimed at transforming Nigeria's energy sector, Dr. Deji Adeleke, the father of renowned artist Davido, is set to provide electricity to over 50 million Nigerians by January.
The business mogul has invested over ₦314 billion into the project, with the ultimate goal of ensuring stable and affordable electricity across the country.
Dr. Adeleke’s vision for the project is to make electricity not only consistent but also more affordable for everyday Nigerians.
"It’s time for Nigerians to experience uninterrupted power at a cheaper cost," he said, highlighting the driving force behind his investment.
Despite some initial resistance from a government minister who allegedly denied support for the venture, Dr. Adeleke remained steadfast.
He revealed that at one point, he turned to prayer for guidance. "I went down on my knees and prayed, and everything turned around," he said, emphasizing the importance of faith in his journey.
This monumental project aligns with the Adeleke family's longstanding commitment to philanthropy and social development.
From Davido’s charitable endeavors to Dr. Adeleke’s contributions to education and now energy, the family has consistently been known for their dedication to improving the lives of others.
