Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has responded sharply to critics who questioned the whereabouts of the father of her newborn son.
During a recent live session, Dayo dismissed the inquiries, telling those probing into her private life to stop looking for her son’s father.
"Please is your husband missing? Or are you counting the census of husbands, and you were told that your husband is with me; hence, you are asking for the father of my child? Don’t waste your time looking for my kid’s father. There are certain things you can’t have satisfaction for," she said.
The actress, who welcomed her baby boy Oluwafirewamiri last week, had earlier shared her joy of motherhood, expressing gratitude for the arrival of her son.
She later held a naming ceremony on November 26th, which was attended by several of her colleagues, including Fali Werepe, Omowunmi Ajiboye, Damola Olatunji, Iyabo Ojo, and Tope Osoba. However, the absence of the baby's father at the event led to public speculation, prompting many to inquire about his identity.
In her live response, Dayo made it clear that she was unbothered by the incessant questioning and emphasized that it was not necessary for people to congratulate her.
Her response also shut down any false narratives surrounding her personal life. For years, Dayo had been mocked online for not having children, with some even labeling her as “barren.” However, the arrival of her son seems to have silenced her critics once and for all.
Dayo has also been vocal in the past about her independent lifestyle and thoughts on relationships. In April, she shared that while she enjoys her independence, she still craves care and affection from a partner.
She has spoken openly about the dangers of rushing into marriage, stressing the importance of self-love and the unrealistic expectations some people place on marriage as a solution to loneliness.
Dayo’s recent remarks also reflect her past experiences in toxic relationships, revealing how she once stayed in an abusive relationship due to a misguided belief that she could "fix" her partner.
Her journey toward self-love and emotional healing continues to inspire many.
