Former Nigerian Governorship Aspirant Criticizes Tesla CEO Over Pro-Trump Stance and Remarks on Harris
Dino Melaye, a prominent Nigerian politician and former governorship aspirant for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, has made headlines by threatening to sell his Tesla vehicle in protest against recent comments made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
The controversy arose as Musk, a noted supporter of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, made statements Melaye described as "harassment" toward U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is affiliated with the Democratic Party.
Musk’s controversial actions included a joke made in a church setting, where he insinuated that no one would attempt to harm Harris, unlike Trump.
Reports also indicate that Musk has financially supported Trump’s campaign, donating approximately $119 million, primarily focused on swing states critical to the election’s outcome.
In a post on X, Melaye stated, “If Elon Musk will not stop harassing Kamala H., I will sell my Tesla and advise my friends to do the same.”
He went on to suggest that Musk's actions could harm America’s reputation as a global advocate for democracy.
This development reflects the international reaction and heightened emotions surrounding the upcoming U.S. presidential election, as Musk’s actions continue to generate significant debate across social and political spheres worldwide.
