Nigerian music icon D'Banj has highlighted the strength of his bond with ace producer Don Jazzy, describing their friendship as one that transcends brotherhood.
Speaking during a recent event, D'Banj reflected on the early days of their collaboration and the enduring respect they have for one another, even after parting ways professionally.
"Some friends are more than brothers. I have tasted one which you all know about," D'Banj said.
He recounted how their journey began in a London studio where Don Jazzy was producing music for JJC and 419 Squad.
At the time, D'Banj was a regular visitor known for his jokes and light-hearted vibe.
"I used to call them 'London boys with big dreams!' I came to the studio most times to catch cruise and just make everyone laugh with my dry jokes and good vibes," he recalled.
However, his frequent visits soon inspired him to try music, and Don Jazzy’s keen eye for talent helped transform his vibe into a musical career.
Their collaboration birthed several iconic hits that dominated the Nigerian music scene. Despite parting ways years ago, D'Banj emphasized that there was no animosity between them.
"We parted ways in peace—no drama, no name-calling, no court case, no eyeballing each other," he said.
Expressing deep admiration for his former collaborator, D'Banj added, "Don Jazzy is a good man. He is stronger than a brother."
This statement underscores the bond between the two music legends, reminding fans that respect and friendship can thrive even in the face of change.
