From commanding platoons in the 93 Battalion and 72 Special Forces Battalion to playing pivotal roles in national security operations like Operation ZAKI, Lafiya Dole, and Operation Forest Sanity, Lagbaja left a significant legacy.
A graduate of the U.S. Army War College, Lagbaja’s career exemplified resilience and commitment. He is survived by his wife, Mariya, and their two children, who now mourn the loss of a beloved husband and father.
With Lagbaja’s declining health in recent weeks, President Tinubu appointed Olufemi Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff.
